Cavitt Creek Covered Bridge
Cavitt Creek Covered Bridge is southeast of Glide, Oregon. The 1943 70-foot How truss bridge was built by Floyd C. Frear. He also built Rochester and Neal Lane covered bridges.
Beware of Spooky Bats
Cavitt Creek is quite lovely and is a tributary to the North Umpqua River. The bridge features a “semi-elliptical shape to a Tudor shape for higher loads” (2013, p. 84). The person featured in the image below is 6’1” to give you a scale of height of the opening portal.
