Currin Covered Bridge
Currin Covered Bridge is near the Row River Trail. The 14-mile trail looked inviting and I certainly would love a second trip to the Cottage Grove area.
Currin Covered Bridge is a photographer’s dream. The white vehicle opening (or portals) and red sides (siding) provide a delightful texture and contrast. The bridge is closed which allowed me to practice my interior-to-exterior photography.
Original Currin Covered Bridge
The original bridge was built in 1883 by Nels Roney. There is extensive information about Roney at the Lowell Covered Bridge Interpretive Center.
The current bridge was built in 1925 and restored in 1995. Some bridges ask you to explore their history. This bridge had a different question. An ask to simply be in-the-moment. To enjoy the sound of the creek below. To gaze at the mountains and look for signs of snow. To hear the easily recognizable sound of a bike bell from Row River Trail.
